Swiss Justice Minister criticized for his meeting with his Turkish counterpart
Swiss Justice Minister Christoph Blocher was sharply criticized for his meeting with his Turkish counterpart Cemil Çiçek, which took place on the eve of legal process towards Turkish Labor Party Chairman Doğu Perinçek for denying the Armenian Genocide. Swiss MP from the Green Party Uelly Leuenberg characterized these meetings as "scandalous", and lawmaker from Christian-Democrat Party, Swiss-Armenian parliamentarian friendship group Dominique de Buman labeled them as "provocation". A day after the meeting between the two justice ministers Doğu Perinçek arrived in Switzerland to appear before the court. Two years ago he had called the Armenian Genocide an "international lie", "Yerkir" newspaper reports.
