Informal election campaign launched in Armenia
National Renaissance party can reconsider participation in the parliamentary election and recall its candidate running by a proportional list of the People's Party of Armenia, party head Albert Bazeyan said March 7. If the authorities, opposition and media continue slandering him, he will call a meeting to decide whether or not it's expedient for the party to take part in the election under such circumstances.

If National Consent Party overcomes the 5-percent barrier, but the election takes place with falsifications, "we are going to refuse from our mandates." Party leader Aram Haroutyunian said that his party has all chances to pass to the new parliament, since in 2003 not having observers in electoral commissions and not spending significant means for electoral campaign, actually it gathered 2.5 percent of the votes.

People's Party of Armenia (PPA) offered the opposition to unite in a joint electoral block during the coming elections on May 12, keeping and enlarging the "Justice" block. PPA Deputy Chairman and MP Grigor Haroutyunian said that opposition should not hold talks over creating a new block, since it was already formed in 2003 and was acting up till now, IA Regnum reports.
