Armenia's participation in IPAP proceeds from state's security considerations
The opening of NATO Information Center in Yerevan is one of the points of Armenia-NATO Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP), Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian stated in Yerevan during the opening ceremony of NATO Information Center. "For Armenian population are very important information and activities of NATO, which people were deprived of during Soviet times. The opening of Center is dictated by utmost necessity to establish further dialog and cooperation with the Alliance," the RA FM said. Alongside he stressed that Armenia's participation in IPAP proceeds from state's security considerations. "Armenia is also a CSTO member-state, which does not contradict to the cooperation with the Alliance. Every country is free to choose its own system of security. But the issue of Armenia's membership to NATO is out of agenda of Armenian foreign policy," Oskanian stressed.
