Arsenal prioritize Henrikh Mkhitaryan over Riyad Mahrez: media

Arsenal are interested in Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez but signing Borussia Dortmund's Henrikh Mkhitaryan is their priority this summer, ESPN FC reports citing a source close to the London club.

Sources had told ESPN FC in February that Mahrez, 25, was on Arsenal's radar.

However, a source close to the club has now said that, while the Algeria international remains on the wanted list, Dortmund attacking midfielder Mkhitaryan is currently their first choice.

Also, Juventus have reportedly contacted Mkhitaryan to offer 4 million euros a year, while Tottenham and Manchester United are keen on the player.

Mkhitaryan, 27, has just over 12 months remaining on his current contract at Dortmund and his agent, Mino Raiola, recently indicated that there are no plans to sign an extension.

The Armenia international joined Dortmund from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2013 and excelled under Thomas Tuchel last season.

Dortmund will reportedly demand around €35 million for Mkhitaryan, who has also been linked with Chelsea, should he fail to prolong his deal, ESPN FC says.
