Obering: U.S. has not turned to Caucasian countries with request to station ADS radar
"We have not turned to any Caucasian country with an offer to station an ADS radar," U.S. Director of the Missile Defense Agency Lt. Gen. Henry Obering stated. He said, in order to strengthen defense and protection from possible threats by Iran experts examined possible trajectories of missile strikes by Iran towards Europe and USA, after which it became clear that the countries, where air-defense systems can be stationed, are Poland and the Czech Republic. "We have not turned to any country except Poland and the Czech Republic with a request to station air-defense system elements," Obering stated, RFE RL reported.

At the beginning of March speaking in Brussels Henry Obering stated that the Pentagon would like to station American air-defense radar in one of Caucasian countries. At the same time he did not clarify what particularly country the matter is about. All official representatives of Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan stated that they have not received such an offer from the United States.
