Nigeria army repels Boko Haram attack, kills 6 insurgents

At least six Boko Haram insurgents were shot dead on Sunday, June 12 by troops of the Nigeria Army when a gang of insurgents attempted a daring attack on a military formation at Pulka village of Gwoza local government area of Borno State, the military said, according to the Premium Times.

Pulka is one of the villages on the fringes of Sambisa forest that once fell to Boko Haram insurgents.

The 121 Task Force Battalion, 26 Task Force Brigade of the 7 Division Nigeria Army, are located at Pulka.

Spokesman of the Nigeria Army, Sani Usman, who confirmed the development in a statement on Monday, said soldiers repelled the Boko Haram attack and recovered some high caliber weapons.
