Russia readying documents to ease Turkey restrictions: Kremlin

The Russian government is drafting documents, including a presidential decree, necessary for lifting restrictions on Turkey, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Thursday, June 30, according to Sputnik.

"Relevant acts -for scrapping previous acts imposing restrictions on certain activities should be adopted… An entire set of such documents are being prepared in the government," Peskov told reporters.

On Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The leaders agreed to restore bilateral relations, including in the spheres of trade and tourism.

Moscow suspended a number of strategic bilateral projects, including negotiations on the Turkish Stream project following the downing of a Russian Su-24 aircraft by a Turkish F-16 fighter jet in Syria on November 24.
