Alex Turner has updated fans on when to expect Arctic Monkeys' next album, saying that there's "no rush" to start work on it, NME reports.

Arctic Monkeys released their fifth album 'AM' in 2013, with Turner more recently teaming up again with Miles Kane for The Last Shadow Puppets' second record 'Everything You’ve Come To Expect', which was released in March of this year.

Speaking to Radio X recently, as reported by DIY, Turner was asked if there were any plans for the Sheffield band's sixth full-length.

Turner replied: "No, there aren’t really, Not yet. But there will be at some point. I mean, we’ll see with that. No rush."

Turner also said that The Last Shadow Puppets will go separate ways at end of festival season: "The plan was to end [The Last Shadow Puppets] at the end of the summer, and I think we’ll stick to that."

The Last Shadow Puppets covered David Bowie's 'Moonage Daydream' during their Glastonbury set at the weekend.

Alex Turner and Miles Kane were also spotted dancing side stage to Tame Impala at the festival.
