"Finding Dory" tops North American box office for a third straight week. The Disney animation remains unmoved at the peak with an estimated $41.9 million (42.6% decrease), bringing its total domestic income to $372.2 million so far. It is projected to earn $50.5 million in the four-day Fourth of July weekend, AceShowbiz reports.

"Finding Dory" is expected to overtake "Toy Story 3" ($415 million) as the highest grossing Pixar movie of all time at the domestic box office by next week. Other records the "Finding Nemo" sequel is looking to take over is the highest grossing Disney animated film ("The Lion King", $422.8M) and the highest-grossing animated film of all time ("Shrek 2", $441.2M).

The "Finding Nemo" sequel narrowly beats "The Legend of Tarzan" which debuts in the second place. The adventure epic film rakes in an estimated $38.1 million, above the expectation of $30 million. The film earned an A- CinemaScore from moviegoers. "We're in a much better place today than we thought we were going to be," Jeff Goldstein, head of distribution for Warner Bros., said. He added, "We're positively looking forward. Friday came in much stronger than we thought. Yesterday was much stronger than we thought."

Another newcomer "The Purge: Election Year" starring Frank Grillo and Elizabeth Mitchell opens to an estimated $30.9 million to secure the third place. The film makes back its budget which is estimated at $10 million. Also opening in theaters last week, "The BFG" nabs the fourth place with an estimated $19.6 million. Landing on the fifth place is "Independence Day: Resurgence", which drops three spots with an estimated $ 16.5 million domestically.
