Resolution 106, which recognizes the Armenian Genocide currently pending in the U.S. Congress, is a bargaining subject between U.S. and Turkey, Director of RA NAS Institute for Oriental Studies doctor Ruben Safrastian stated to a press conference in Yerevan. He said, the American political elite has recognized the Armenian Genocide long ago. "But the Bush Administration proceeds from its interests, and Armenia must consistently continue her policy aimed at international recognition of the Genocide. The humanity needs it in order to prevent such tragedies in future," Safrastian underlined.
