London Armenian Street Festival held in Kensington

The Armenian Street Festival 2016 was held at St Sarkis church of London on Sunday, July 17, Aravot reports.

The Festival is an annual celebration of Armenian culture and heritage that takes place in Kensington/Chelsea. The family-oriented event each year features Armenian cuisine, live street entertainment, special guests and vendors, and a concert at the church.

This is the 6th edition of the festival attended by the Armenian community members, British officials and a number of other guests.

“We seek to gather the British-Armenian community around their identity, their culture and history, their heritage,” Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Great Britain Bishop Hovakim Manukyan said.

“The youth’s involvement is of special importance, and this year’s event is unique as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s independence.”
