Andrew Ahn's “Spa Night” takes Grand Jury Prize at Outfest

Andrew Ahn’s Spa Night, a film about a young Korean-American coming to terms with his sexual identity, was recognized with the U.S. Grand Jury Prize at Outfest, the Los Angeles LGBT film festival, which concluded Sunday, July 17 with a screening of Chris Kelly’s Other People, starring Jesse Plemons, Zach Woods, Bradley Whitford, Maude Apatow, Molly Shannon and June Squibb.

Joe Seo, who stars in Spa Night, also received a special mention for his performance.

The festival’s audience awards were presented to Nathan Adloff’s Miles, which received the U.S. Narrative Audience Award; Carly Usdin’s Suicide Kale, Audience Award for Best First U.S. Dramatic Feature; and Annalise Ophelian’s Major!, U.S. Documentary Audience Award.
