Two police officers were killed and 10 others were injured Thursday, July 28 in a car bomb attack on a police station in the southeast province of Hakkari, Anadolu Agency reports citing security sources.

One civilian was injured in the attack by what the media said to be PKK terrorists

Terrorists detonated the bomb at the entrance to the city located near a security checkpoint, according to security sources who spoke on condition of anonymity as weren’t authorized to speak to the media.

The wounded are being treated at Hakkari State Hospital.

An operation to arrest the terrorists is underway in the region, sources added.

The PKK resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish regime in July 2015.

Since then, nearly 600 security personnel, including troops, police officers and village guards have been killed and more than 7,700 PKK terrorists destroyed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq, Anadolu says.
