Self-immolation attempt amid Yerevan rally

A person attempted to burn himself to death as supporters of the armed group that seized a police HQ launched a sit-in on Baghramyan street where the presidential palace is situated.

People put out the fire, the police offered to take him to hospital but the man refused, walked away and took a taxi to the Republican medical center instead.

The protesters gathered at the Freedom Square in downtown Yerevan and are currently rallied through the central streets of Armenia's capital. They then reached Baghramyan street but the police immediately cordoned off the area.
