Deputy FM: EU-Armenia common air zone to help decrease tariffs

The common air zone between the EU and Armenia is also expected to impact the airfares, making air communication essentially cheaper, according to deputy minister of foreign affairs Karen Nazaryan.

Speaking to Tert.am, the official said that the EU countries have already issued a mandate for negotiating a corresponding document.

In his words, the negotiations were on the agenda ahead of the Eastern Partnership countries’ 2015 Summit in Riga, Latvia.

“The agreement is aimed at regulating the air communication between Armenia and the EU countries.”

“It will also contribute to lower airfares,” he said.
