Levon Aronian claims second spot in Sinquefield Cup in St. Louis

Armenian chess grandmaster Levon Aronian drew with Bulgarian player Veselin Topalov in the final round of the Sinquefield Cup to take the second spot alongside Topalov, India’s Viswanathan Anand and Fabiano Caruana of the United States.

Based on raw scores of each player, Aronian ranked the third.

Filipino chess grandmaster representing the United States, Wesley So won the tournament, with Hikaru Nakamura (U.S.), Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (France), Ding Liren (China), Peter Svidler (Russia) and Anish Giri (Netherlands) claiming the 6th to 10th spots.
