Scott Eastwood in talks to topline “Ecstasia” sci-fi

Scott Eastwood is in early talks to star in Wayne Kramer’s sci-fi film “Ecstasia”, Variety reports.

Kramer is directing from his own screenplay, which centers on a couple who lives in a world where love no longer exists. The film, which also stars Matilda Lutz, follows their final days together before their love expires.

The movie will be introduced to buyers at next month’s Toronto Film Festival, with shooting set to start next year in South Africa. UTA, which reps Eastwood, is handling domestic rights, while Red Sea is selling international rights.

Producers are Sentient Entertainment’s Renee Tab and Christopher Tuffin, who recently collaborated with Eastwood on the heist thriller “Overdrive.” Matthew Chausse and Eastwood are also producing. Ingenious, Film Afrika, and Red Sea Media will finance “Ecstasia.”

Eastwood appeared in “Suicide Squad” and will be seen next in Oliver Stone’s “Snowden,” Ben Affleck’s “Live by Night,” and as a new character in Universal’s “Fast 8.”

Lutz will be seen next in Paramount’s “Rings,” which opens Oct. 28. Kramer directed “The Cooler.”
