Sophie Longshaw has revealed the winsome, dream-like video for her new single, ‘In The Morning’, Gigwise reports.

Set to be released as an AA side with ‘Let’s Go To The Beach’, ‘In The Morning’ traverses the difficult subject of depression with a poignant poeticism. “In the morning I try to run,” sings the 20-year-old, “I try to get away as fast as I can”, Gigwise said.

“‘In The Morning’ is special to me because I was able to express things through it that I found hard to say in person,” says Longshaw. “I wanted to show people how depression can make you feel and it was natural for me to use music to communicate that.”

Its accompanying video, which you can watch exclusively on Gigwise, pairs this lyrical narrative with imagery of birds, nature and intense close-ups of Longshaw herself.

Longshaw will release AA side ‘In The Morning’ and ‘Let’s Go To The Beach’ in collaboration with Chris Mann of Twin Records and international music agency and record label DEFDISCO.
