Lady Gaga’s new single "Perfect Illusion" reportedly due on Sept 3

Lady Gaga's new single "Perfect Illusion" off her forthcoming fifth studio album is reportedly due out on Saturday, September 3. Even before the song is released, it roars to a No. 1 debut on the Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks chart, AceShowbiz reports.

Produced by Mark Ronson and Tame Impala's Kevin Parker, "Perfect Illusion" leads a debut-filled top three, including Metallica's "Hardwired" and Shawn Mendes' "Mercy" which land on No. 2 and 3 respectively.

On Wednesday, August 24, Gaga shared a mysterious black-and-white gif, possibly from "Perfect Illusion" music video, showing her lying on the green field alongside a man who plays guitar.

Gaga announced her new single "Perfect Illusion" on August 17. In a recent interview with iHeart Radio's Music Summit, the Mother Monster shared details regarding her new music. According to the site, the song is "a cut that touches the highest of highs and lowest of lows in a relationship gone wrong, thus, the perfect illusion" and fits "alongside some of her best dance floor anthems."

Gaga explained, "The song is about modern ecstasy... We found our sweet, simple, ragey way of saying it." The "Poker Face" hitmaker recalled sunlight pouring through the trees in the window as the record came to fruition. "I get this sick adrenaline rush every time I hear it," she added.
