Armenia to host IBM regional center of excellence

An IBM regional center of excellence for social services will be established in Armenia, a corresponding decision made at the Friday, September 2 government session.

Minister of Labor Artem Asatryan announced the country will start employing a unified e-platform of public social services, which means they will appear in a tech environment which will ensure their compatibility for a single database.

For that reason, with the support of the U.S. government, Armenia has signed a memorandum with the IBM Corporation which envisages the creation of a regional center of excellence based on IBM Curam software.

Not only will the center enable creating systems for future automation of services, but it will also help ship them abroad, the Minister added.
