Armenia rejects Turkish observers
Yerevan said "no" to independent Turkish election observers working with AGIT (European Security and Cooperation Group), Hurriyet Turkish newspaper reports.

AGIT is an international organization which is regularly involved in observing elections proceedings. The Turkish observers learned of the Yerevan administration's veto of their arrival while in the Istanbul airport.

Ms. Urdur Gunnarsdottir, the spokesperson for the OSCE/ODIHR told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter that invitations to observe the Armenian parliamentary election were sent to 44 states including Turkey. "The Armenian authorities rejected presence of Turkish observers. However, they have not furnished an explanation yet," she said.
