President Serzh Sargsyan, who is currently in Kygyzstan on a working visit, is participating in the meeting of the Council of the CIS heads of state in Bishkek, the president’s office said in a statement.

The summit was chaired by the President of the host country, Almazbek Atambaev.

At the meeting, the heads of state will discuss issues related to the cooperation of CIS member states in political, economic, humanitarian and security sectors, over a dozen issues concerning new challenges and threats.

The discussions will be followed by a document signing ceremony.

Afterwards, the results of the work will be recapped by the Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Sergei Lebedev at a meeting with mass media representatives.

In Bishkek, the Presidents are expected to sign a Presidential Declaration on the 25th anniversary of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
