There are 2 285 830 voters in Armenia
The final electoral register includes 2 285 830 voters, first deputy chief of the Armenian police, lieutenant general Ararat Mahtesyan told a news conference in Yerevan.
The electoral rolls included 2 328 747 voters initially. Then they were reduced to 2 285 830 potential voters as result of clarifications carried out by the police, he said.
9 000 people in active service, 9 037 dead, 430 convicted and 26 300 citizens who changed their residence were excluded from the lists, Novosti Armenia reports.
The Armenian parliamentary election will be held May 12.
22 parties and one bloc run for the parliament. 1245 candidates will be competing for 131-seat parliament by proportional system and 119 candidates by majoritarian system.
According to the Constitution, parties will occupy 90 seats; 41 seats are meant for candidates from constituencies.
