International conference-festival Komitas and Medieval Armenian Music will kick off Monday, September 26, at Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall in Yerevan.
Hover Chamber Choir, the National Chamber Choir of Armenia, the State Academic Choir, the Yerevan Chamber Choir, as well as Anahit Papayan, Hasmik Torosyan and Irina Zakyan will start off the festival on Monday.
The conference, set for a Tuesday opening at Komitas Museum-Institute, is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s independence, scheduled to continue for two more days at Haghpat monastery.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Culture, the conference-festival is a great opportunity to present Komitas’ culture and his contemporaries' works.
Prominent musicologists from the United States, Germany, Cyprus and Russia will deliver reports.
