Premier wants new mechanisms for making business “breathe”

The goal of the new government is for the business to “breathe,” newly-appointed Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan said Tuesday, September 27 at a meeting with representatives of Armenia’s banking sector.

“From this perspective, I expect you to unveil proposals for concrete measures aimed at ensuring additional loans for the economy,” Karapetyan said adding that “it’s high time to propose practical solutions.”

The PM said he wanted proposals with out-of-the-box solutions whose implementation would give a new impetus to business reforms and the attraction of fresh investments.

As the government’s press office reports, Karapetyan proposed the banking system representatives to create relevant mechanisms for using the assets available in banks to lend to small and medium-sized businesses.
