Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda to host "Saturday Night Live"

Lin-Manuel Miranda is going to "Saturday Night Live". The "Hamilton" star is tapped to host the NBC variety show as a host on October 8, the second episode of season 42. Twenty One Pilots will serve as a performer. It will mark the first "SNL" appearance for both. "I...have a bit of a week next week," Lin-Manuel tweeted, AceShowbiz said.

Another Hollywood star making an "SNL" debut on the upcoming new season is Margot Robbie. The Harley Quinn of "Suicide Squad" is confirmed to be an emcee for the premiere episode on October 1 with The Weeknd as a musical guest.

The season opener will also be Mikey Day, Alex Moffat and Melissa Villasenor's first scheduled episode as cast members. The trio joins the crew after Taran Killam, Jay Pharoah and Jon Rudnitsky left to pursue other opportunities.
