Revamping Armenia's culture: from audio guides to accident insurance

The Armenian Ministry of Culture at a meeting on Wednesday, October 12 discussed a number of topical issues which, according to its press service, will from now on be briefed for the media.

According to the Ministry, necessary financial calculations should be implemented for introducing audio and virtual guides at all the museums of the country.

A plan envisaging the virtual mapping of theaters, concert halls, outdoor platforms and exhibition halls was in the meeting's spotlight too.

As the Ministry further notes, an accident insurance system protecting the visitors of cultural organizations should be installed in Armenia, theme cafes and souvenir shops should be established at various museums, especially those in provinces.

To help boost the development of tourism and further assist the guides working in the country, multilingual books about the 100 most valuable cultural monuments in Armenia will be published, the press service said.

The newly-elected Culture Minister Armen Amiryan also seeks to have an integrated ticketing system in Armenia, also enabling visitor to buy tickets online which will, in turn, help the Ministry analyze attendance rates of particular cultural sites.

Also, the meeting focused on providing readers with Wi-Fi in community libraries.

According to the Ministry statement, all these issues are currently in the stage of implementation.
