Prices for air tickets to and from Armenia will be reduced in the near future, chief of the General Department of Civil Aviation Sergey Avetisyan said during a parliament session on Monday, October 24.
According to Avetisyan, a lot has changed in terms of ticket prices, but still there is room for improvement.
"We are constantly comparing the tariffs with those in Tbilisi. Some destinations are cheaper to reach from there, and some tickets are better priced in Yerevan," he said.
Also, he said, in September the passenger traffic grew by 30% year-on-year.
Dwelling upon Shirak airport in Gyumri, Avetisyan said the Department is negotiating with a new air carrier - whose name he failed to disclose - which will most probably start operating in Armenia.
