Zach Galifianakis, Andre Holland join Disney’s “A Wrinkle in Time”

Zach Galifianakis, Andre Holland, and Levi Miller have rounded out cast of Disney’s “A Wrinkle in Time”, Variety said.

Deric McCabe has also joined the cast.

They join Chris Pine, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Storm Reid, Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, and Mindy Kaling, with Ava DuVernay directing.

“Since Day One, this experience has shimmered with the promise and possibility, the passion and power that only great stories offer,” said DuVernay. “And Madeleine L’Engle’s book is a great story indeed. A cool, quirky tale of an imperfect girl on an otherworldly expedition that has been praised and banned, dissected and celebrated the world over for more than 50 years. On behalf of all the filmmakers, artists and craftspeople in our ‘Wrinkle in Time’ family, we are genuinely thrilled by and truly grateful for the opportunity to make this film together.”

Jennifer Lee, who wrote and co-directed “Frozen” with Chris Buck, is penning the adaptation of L’Engle’s book for Disney. The story follows children as they travel through time and visit strange worlds in order to find their missing father, a scientist.

Galifianakis will play the Happy Medium, Holland will play the Principal, and Miller will play Calvin.

“A Wrinkle in Time” is the first book in L’Engle’s “Time Quintet” series, which includes “A Wind in the Door,” “Many Waters,” “A Swiftly Tilting Planet,” and “An Acceptable Time.”

Production is currently under way.
