Apple wins patent for bendable or foldable iPhone

A new patent shows that Apple may have an interesting direction for a future iPhone. The company successfully patented a bendable or foldable iPhone, according to Patently Apple. It looks as though such a design has been on Apple's mind, with the publication noting that Apple has been trying, unsuccessfully until now, to secure such a patent since at least 2013, C/Net reports.

And although a folding iPhone sounds like it could be fun, there's not telling when or if this idea will come to fruition. Samsung, for instance, in April of this year was granted a patent for contact lens AR displays, but that technology seems a while away.

Apple was contacted for comment but did not immediately respond.
