Fresh rumors suggest that the Lenovo P2 is going to be the last handset to bear Lenovo’s name and that the Chinese giant is going to switch completely to the “Moto” brand for all future smartphones, Ubergizmo reports.

Basically, what this means is that any and all smartphones that Lenovo makes in the future won’t carry its name on the front.

It would certainly make sense. The average consumer is likely to associate Motorola more with smartphones than Lenovo, which many just know for its PCs. Lenovo hasn’t obviously confirmed anything at this point in time but it’s not like this doesn’t make sense.

More clarity about this will most probably emerge after November 8 when Lenovo is expected to release the P2 alongside the rumored Moto M in China.
