Sales launch for Emile Hirsch drama “The Swimmer”

Green-Light Intl. is selling the worldwide rights to Emile Hirsch’s upcoming drama “The Swimmer” at the American Film Market, Variety has learned exclusively.

Green-Light’s Jeff Elliott and Chad Moore will executive produce, with Tony Krantz, Joachim Lyng, and Brandi Savitt producing the film.

“The Swimmer” will be directed by Richard L. Fox in his feature directorial debut. Fox has been the first assistant director on “The Glass Castle,” “Nightcrawler,” “Spring Breakers,” “Olympus Has Fallen,” and “The Descendants.”

Hirsch will portray an adrenaline junkie who travels the world to find the most extreme rapids to swim, without the luxury of a kayak or raft. When he receives news about his father’s declining health, he embarks on “the most dangerous swim of his life.” Hirsch’s credits include “Into the Wild,” “Milk,” “Savages” and “Lone Survivor.”

Green-Light’s slate at the market includes Jesper Ganslandt’s “Beasts of Burden,” starring Daniel Radcliffe.
