It's widely known that Benedict Cumberbatch is playing the titular neurosurgeon-turned-sorcerer in "Doctor Strange". However, it turns out that the British actor has another role in the recently-released superhero flick, and surprisingly, it's an even bigger bad guy than Mads Mikkelsen's treacherous character Kaecilius, AceShowbiz reports.

As revealed by director Scott Derrickson, Cumberbatch was the actor who portrayed [SPOILER ALERT!] the galactic baddie Dormammu. Though the demon of the Dark Dimension only appears as a flaming, talking head in the universe during his confrontation with the Sorcerer Supreme, it was Cumberbatch who provided the facial motion capture and voice.

"The reason for that was threefold," Derrickson told Empire. "One, Benedict suggested it. [Two,] the awesomeness of his voice - he was Smaug, of course. [Three,] he understood exactly who Dormammu was. He's the ultimate cosmic narcissist. There was something great about the mirrored relationship between the two of them."

"Doctor Strange" also stars Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams and Benedict Wong. Since its premiere on November 4, the superhero flick has bagged almost $100 million domestically. As of now, it's raked in nearly $400 million worldwide.
