CEO of "Millenium Challenges" Corporation hopes to continue cooperation with Armenia
Yesterday Armenian President Robert Kocharian hosted Ambassador John Danilovich, the Chief Executive Officer of the "Millenium Challenges" Corporation. President underlined the importance of cooperation between the RA Government and the Fund and assistance in those programs, which are aimed at deepening reforms, solution of a number of problems important for the country. "The major point for the government is to rapidly decrease the gap between the capital and regions, and in this respect we have big expectations from the Program," Robert Kocharian said.
In his part John Danilovich also expressed satisfaction with bilateral cooperation. He briefly familiarized Robert Kocharian with future programs, told about his meeting with the democratic majority of the U.S. Congress and expressed hope that the partnership between the "Millenium Challenges Corporation" and the RA Government will continue.
"Reforms in Armenia proceed steadily, and we see development of the country exactly in perspective changes. On the course of many years authorities have been working with the society aiming at strengthening perception of the fact that reforms determine development of the country. Results of parliamentarian elections allow us to keep on that course," the RA President underscored. According to J. Danilovich, the results of elections are very important for the Corporation. In his part Robert Kocharian underlined, irregularities and violations, which occurred during elections, will be thoroughly examined, adding that member of some Precinct Electoral Commissions have been put on trial, the RA Presidential Press Office reports.
