Irrespective of Kosovo problem resolution Armenia to go on the way of Karabakh's self-determination
Conflicts in the world and their solutions are not precedents for Armenia, RA FM Vartan Oskanian stated. He said, the Karabakh conflict is a unique one, and Armenia proceeds the way of Nagorno Karabakh people's right to self-determination. Irrespective of what status Kosovo is granted, there will be no digressions from that way. If Kosovo obtains independence, it will strengthen Armenia's position. But in the opposite case our stance will not change. There exists a danger in the Kosovo problem. Trying to calm a number of countries including Georgia, western states may insists that Kosovo cannot serve as a precedent for settling other conflicts. However, it is unacceptable to consider all other processes of self-determination unrealizable and create obstacles for them because of one case," Oskanian underscored.

He also underlined the international community may declare that even Kosovo did not get independence and, consequently, it is not worth to speak about Karabakh or other conflicts. "Our task is not to allow the international community to strengthen the idea that Kosovo's independence is the end of history, and all other processes of self-determination cannot overstep certain limits. We must struggle against it and we are doing that," the Armenian FM said.

He added the international community singles out the Karabakh conflict from a number of other conflicts on the CIS territory and views Karabakh in another context. "It is a negotiation process, and the right of Nagorno Karabakh people to self-determination is put on the bases of it," Oskanian stated in the interview to "Kentron" TV Company.
