Turkey has urged NATO countries to give it more support in its fight against Kurdish militants, CCTV reports.
Addressing a NATO meeting in Istanbul, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on the European Union to tighten its approach to the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).
Brussels has listed the PKK as a terrorist group, but Erdogan said the group’s members are allowed to travel freely within the bloc.
Turkey also urged NATO to re-assess a proposal for a no-fly zone over northern Syria. Turkey claims the proposal is intended to protect civilians displaced by the conflict in Syria.
