Currently relations between Armenia and NATO are very friendly and productive, Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian stated to a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General's Special Representative in South Caucasus Robert Simmons. V. Oskanian said the annual report of NATO indicates on positive tendencies in realizing the Armenia-NATO Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP). "During my meeting with Robert Simmons we discussed security issues, the Karabakh conflict, NATO's view on the Kosovo settlement, approaches of sides to air defense system. We have also touched the issue of enlarging Armenia's participation in peacekeeping operations of NATO," V. Oskanian said.

In his part the Sec. Gen.'s Special Representative informed that during his meeting with RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan they discussed the process of IPAP realization. "We will keep on moving that direction. The program supposes cooperation not only in the security sphere, but also other fields. NATO also appreciates the role of Armenian peacekeepers," Robert Simmons underscored.
