The Cure kick off UK leg of their European tour

The Cure kicked off the UK leg of their European tour with a hit-packed show at Manchester Arena last night (Tuesday 29 November), NME said.

Robert Smith and co have spent much of the last year, joined by support band The Twilight Sad, touring the world with sets that often pack in more than 30 songs. To celebrate, Smith even covered their acclaimed track ‘There’s A Girl In The Corner’.

While other shows on the tour saw the band air new tracks ‘Step Into The Light’ and ‘It Can Never Be The Same’, last night the band focussed purely on their classic singles and long run of fan favourites – performing the likes of ‘In Between Days’, ‘Pictures Of You’, ‘Lovesong’, ‘Just Like Heaven’, ‘Primary’, ‘100 Years’, ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ and ‘Close To Me’ in a set backed by a visually spectacular arena light show, and taking in three encores and 23 tracks.

The Cure’s remaining UK tour dates see them perform three nights at London’s SSE Wembley Arena from December 1-3.
