Frank Ocean unveils European festival date

Frank Ocean has announced his second European festival date for 2017, NME reveals.

The ‘blond’ artist will return to the festival circuit next year, including a newly-announced date at Lovebox Festival in London, which he will headline on July 14.

Stereogum reports that Ocean will also be playing at NorthSide Festival in Aarhus, Denmark, which runs from June 9-11. Described by the festival as “an exceptional singer,” the performance will mark Ocean’s second-ever performance in Denmark, and his first festival gig in the country.

Ocean joins Radiohead on the 2017 NorthSide line-up, with the likes of Run The Jewels, Bastille, and MØ also already confirmed on the bill.

The NorthSide and Lovebox shows will mark Ocean’s first return to the live arena since July 2014.

Ocean recently gave his first interview in three years, revealing that he is working on new music but may never release a proper album again.

After a lengthy silence following the release of ‘blond’ and visual album ‘Endless’, Ocean granted an interview to The New York Times, in which he confirmed that he is working on new music in an “anonymous recording studio”. He also said he may move away from the traditional album format in his future releases.
