New clip for Michael Fassbender’s "Assassin's Creed" hits the web

Fox has debuted a new clip of "Assassin's Creed" at The Game Awards. Unlike the previous clips which highlight the present-day Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender), the extended clip puts its focus on his ancestor Aguilar de Nerha in the time of the Spanish Inquisition, AceShowbiz reports.

The more-than-one-minute video shows Aguilar engaging in a "carriage chase" with some bad guys in the 15th century Spain. While his fellow assassins are facing off the enemies, he attempts to save a boy who is being caged in a horse-drawn carriage before it falls from a cliff.

Set to arrive in U.S. theaters this year on December 21, "Assassin's Creed" centers on Callum Lynch who discovers he is a descendant of the secret Assassins society when he explores the memories of his ancestor Aguilar and gains the skills of a Master Assassin.

The action flick is set in the same world as Ubisoft's "Assassin's Creed" video games, but is not a direct adaptation. It's supported by Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Michael K. Williams, Ariane Labed and Brendan Gleeson among others.
