If you don't follow James Blunt on Twitter you are really missing out, because the man is hilarious.

The singer has been relatively quiet on the music scene over recent years, although he did make the time to perform and subsequently crowd surf at this year's Invictus Games.

If you need a little more Blunt in your life than worry not, because the man is bringing brand new music in 2017.

And obviously he announced it in the way only James Blunt can, Digital Spy said.

Taking to social media on December 13, he wrote: "If you thought 2016 was bad - I'm releasing an album in 2017."

The post is already stacking up the likes and seems like a surprise move from the music maker, whose last album Moon Landing came out in 2013, Digital Spy said.

Back in May, Mike Posner, the singer/songwriter behind the summer's hit song 'Took a Pill in Ibiza' told Digital Spy that he was recording music with Blunt.

"I wrote with James Blunt this year," said Posner. "We wrote a couple of songs on the piano. I'm not sure if they'll make his album but we'll see."
