Manchester United given boost in James Rodriguez pursuit

Manchester United target James Rodriguez has admitted he is open to the prospect of leaving Real Madrid in January, The Mirror reports.

The Colombian is out of favour with Los Merengues boss Zinedine Zidane and United are one of the clubs keen on acquiring his services.

Rodriguez said he wants to fight for his future in the Spanish capital but admitted there are already offers on the table for him to leave next month.

"I’m happy here, but I want to play more. I want to stay at Madrid forever, but you have to think about everything and look at your options," Rodriguez said after Madrid's World Club Cup win on Sunday.

"I have offers and I've got seven days to think about it."

Chelsea are also interested in Rodriguez as a replacement for the China-bound Oscar.
