Armenian figure skater takes 12th spot at European Championships

Armenian figure skater Anastasia Galustyan was placed the 12th at the European Championships on Friday, January 27, competing against a total of 33 participants.

Galustyan secured 155.14 points, falling short of making it into the top 10.

Russia's Evgenia Medvedeva, who is also of Armenian descent, won gold at the championships with a world record score for her second straight title in the women's competition. For the best free skate, she earned 150.79 points — surpassing the mark she set last year — and a total of 229.71.

Fellow Russian Anna Pogorilaya, who finished third at the last two continental championships, was a distant second with 211.39 despite her third best free skate.

Also, five-time European champion Carolina Kostner of Italy took bronze with 210.52.
