The state tourism committee of Armenia’s ministry of economic development and investments has unveiled a draft concept of installation of tourist signs and maintenance of the information system.

The new paper, if approved, is set to boost the development of tourism, as well as raise awareness of tourist attractions and specially protected nature territories among locals and travelers alike.

Tourist info boards and signs are key to creating pleasant and welcoming atmosphere for visitors, the committee said in a statement.

A tourist sign is designed to direct visitors to tourist destinations. By international convention, brown signs with white lettering and pictograms are often used for this purpose, standing out for travelers as recognizable symbols.
