Tsarukyan bloc rules out coalition with Republican Party of Armenia

Tsarukyan bloc will win the majority of the vote and form a government; otherwise, it won’t join the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) in a coalition, one of the alliance’s candidates, Tigran Urikhanyan, said on Monday, March 13.

Parliamentary elections will be held on April 2. Nine parties and blocs running for seats at the National Assembly have already launched their campaigns.

According to him, the bloc has designated a roadmap of changes that include measures already under implementation and known to the public at large on the one hand, and near-revolutionary draft projects on the other.

“Tsarukyan bloc has always considered forming a coalition irrational, undesirable,” Urikhanyan said.

Commenting on the possibility of joining the opposition, he said: "We have always expressed readiness to cooperate with forces that offer a political course other than the one provided by the majority."
