CEC reacts to Armenian opposition bloc’s proposal to delay election day

The Armenian Central Electoral Commission continues performing its functions expecting that elections to the National Assembly will be held on April 2, CEC chief Tigran Mukuchyan said.

The Armenian National Congress - People’s Party of Armenia (ANC-PPA) bloc had earlier proposed pushing back the election day one week.

“The election day has been set, and we carry out our functions based on this,” Panorama.am cited Mukuchyan as saying on Monday, March 20.

“I have no other response to this question.”

Nine parties and blocs running for seats at the National Assembly have already launched their election campaigns.
