The government has received a proposal by Scottish film director and screenwriter David Mackenzie to open a school of cinematography in Armenia, prime minister Karen Karapetyan said on Thursday, March 23.
"According to the proposal, the institution will be a partner of Los Angeles Film School, set to attract investments worth some $5 million," Aysor.am cited Karapetyan as saying.
The minister of culture was instructed to review the proposal within two weeks and submit a response.
Mackenzie is the co-founder of the Glasgow-based production company Sigma Films. He has made nine feature films including Young Adam (2003), Hallam Foe (2007), Perfect Sense (2011) and Starred Up (2013).
