Some countries' unwillingness to recognize Genocide conditioned by unwillingness to worsen relations with Turkey
"Everyone knows what happened to Armenians in Turkey in 1915," Armenian President Robert Kocharian told a news conference in Brussels.

"Unwillingness of some countries to recognize the Armenian Genocide is conditioned by unwillingness to worsen relations with Turkey," he said.

"Turkey denies the historical fact of Genocide but it doesn't mean that it can impose its policy on other states," he said.

The RA President did not agree with the opinion that recognition of the Armenian Genocide by U.S. Congress can damage the Armenian-Turkish relations. "It's impossible to damage relations which do not exist," he said.

"We are ready to open dialogue with Turkey without preconditions," the President affirmed, Izvestiya reports.
