President: Armenia-EU relations stem from Yerevan’s European agenda

President Serzh Sargsyan on Wednesday, March 29 said that Armenia-European Union partnership is a result of Armenia’s consistent European agenda.

Addressing the Congress of the European People’s Party in Malta, Sargsyan cited the completion of negotiations on a new legal document regulating the relations as a success story.

“It will open up a new page in the relations between Armenia and the European Union, and consolidate institutional foundations, establishing new opportunities for the further expansion and deepening of our cooperation,” Sargsyan said.

“Armenia-European Union partnership is a model of a successful partnership that resulted from Armenia’s consistent European agenda on the one hand and the tailor-made approaches of the recent years in EU’s cooperation with the Eastern Partnership nations on the other.”

Throughout this process, Sargsyan said, Armenia has vividly demonstrated that it’s possible to make various integration processes compatible.

During the two-day Congress, the delegates will focus on the importance of pan-European issues.
