Changes in Armenian-Turkish relations not expected in near future
No charges are expected in the Armenian-Turkish relations in the near future, Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian told a news conference in Yerevan.

"I met with new Turkish FM Ali Babacan in New York. Each of us confirmed position of our states. We will continue meetings at the level of Deputies to Foreign Ministers. However, I do not think there will be any progress. For instance, Deputy Foreign Minister Arman Kirakossian is currently in Istanbul participating in BSEC session," Mr Oskanian said.

Armenia and Turkey do not have diplomatic relations. In 1993 Turkey closed the border with Armenia to support Azerbaijan in Karabakh issue. Armenia is ready to establish relations with Ankara without preconditions, however the latter urges Yerevan to stop pressing for Armenian Genocide recognition and supporting Nagorno Karabakh.
